These ground mounted solar arrays in Cheshire, CT & Newington, CT consist of over 3,500 modules secured to ground mounted structures, as well as a 550 kWH / 250 kVA energy storage system at each site. The energy storage systems provide backup for each buildings’ critical loads and also participate in the utility company’s demand response program. The Cheshire array also has a sunlight tracker system for optimal production. SGE’s design scope includes the AC & DC sides of the array, as well as the addition of generator backup capacity at one location.
